Born and raised in northern Spain, Nerea has been a passionate dancer and athlete from a young age. She studied classical ballet at the Conservatorium of San Sebastian and began teaching ballet during her training.
She then completed her training at the Carmen de la Figuera Classical Dance Academy in Zaragoza and studied modern dance with Inaki Landa, before dancing with several companies. Courses at the Amsterdam theatre school brought her to Amsterdam, where she has lived since 1999.
After several injuries, Nerea discovered Pilates. Finding it helpful during her recovery encouraged her to explore the method further. She completed the Polestar Pilates mat programme in the Netherlands and has enjoyed teaching ever since.
